With the new single user auto-scaling feature, they now have a scaling type that provides them with defined computing power. Even at peak times when a large number of people are using the platform, computing-intensive work such as graphics or CAD can be completed without any performance restrictions.

The desired scaling type can be configured in the settings of the event profile used.

With a single-user single occupancy, exactly one user is assigned to each virtual machine (VM). In contrast, multiple users are assigned to a VM and share its resources in the case of multi-user allocation.

The use of single user autoscaling from an admin perspective

Thanks to autoscaling, the system creates new VMs for additional users as required according to your specifications, and deletes them again when they are no longer needed. You can define the following parameters:

– Number of stopped systems to be kept available

– Number of running systems to be kept available

– Minimum number of running systems

– Maximum number of additional systems

– Interval for execution, e.g. working days vs. weekends

You define the specifications of the VM, such as computing power or memory, in the same way as you would for multi-user autoscaling.

The current load distribution (load balancing) and the active event profiles are displayed in the settings of the target system pool. You also activate the event profile there after it has been created.

For when you need a little more performance: single-user autoscaling for power users

Especially when using software that requires a high computing power or GPU, a shared environment can quickly lead to dissatisfaction among the other users. For this reason, single-user allocation of the VM is preferable to multi-user allocation. It guarantees that all resources are available to a single user.

For more information, read our article on autoscaling and test the new single user autoscaling right away.

oneclick™ platform now features single-user autoscaling.
